St. Cuthbert’s Well and Pool
This is a small pool which is partly fed by the historic St. Cuthbert’s Well. (In the past, such well water was believed to be a cure for blindness). The Pool is bordered by mature trees such as Beech, Hazel and especially Yew, which provide nesting and roosting areas for birds. The banks of the Pool are bordered with such water-plants as Water Mint, Yellow Flag Iris and Water Forget-me-Not.
